Bull Products is well aware of the risks caused by fires breaking out on construction sites and the danger this can cause, not only to site workers and members of the public but to buildings and communities close by.
With innovation at the forefront of its technology, Bull Products designs, installs and maintains high-quality, life-saving products that are customisable to the needs of individual sites or projects. Products can be installed quickly and efficiently ensuring peace of mind and life-saving fire protection for the entire team working across construction sites.
A reliable temporary fire alarm system ensures everyone on site can be alerted in the case of an emergency. Bull Products’ Cygnus Wireless Alarm System has been selected to protect some of the most high-profile construction sites across the country including the iconic Manchester Town Hall, 80 Strand, the former Shell-Mex building in London and Edinburgh’s Quarter Mile regeneration scheme.
The Cygnus Wireless Alarm System sets the benchmark in wireless emergency fire, first aid and intruder alarms. Designed for performance and reliability, the Cygnus Alarm System is the most adaptable temporary mesh fire alarm system in the construction industry. Cygnus can link up to 480 individual devices in 15 different zones including fire alarm call points, smoke detectors, heat detectors, combined fire call point/first aid alert alarm and interface units.
Also, part of the Cygnus solution is the Exclusion Zone Alarm System showcasing the innovative features of the Cygnus range. This adaptive system is designed specifically to give warning of danger and exclusion zones. Applications include areas where equipment is being operated, crane and lifting operations and ‘out of bounds’ locations.
The Linear Heat Cable is a solution for fire protection on scaffolding. If a fire occurs, the core and insulation of the linear heat cable are designed to burn and fuse at a pre-determined 65ºC, 85ºC or 100ºC, which causes a short circuit. The linear heat cable is cleverly integrated with the Cygnus Wireless Alarm System, which then triggers the alarm, and alerts safety managers to the incident, including out of hours.
Cygnus also features Lockdown Alarm remote devices which can be fitted in convenient locations across any site. Each remote device has a trigger to sound the alarm and an alarm unit. Once a lockdown alarm is triggered, all units then sound the distinct warning. Up to 480 units can be installed, whilst the system can be linked to an auto-dialler to notify up to 50 mobile phones for emergency contacts.
