Bull Products protects New Barking Housing Estate with SiteProtect

Bull Products, a manufacturer of life-saving fire protection equipment, has installed its SiteProtect Wireless System at a residential development providing social housing in Barking.

Bull Products installed a full SiteProtect Wireless System designed to keep the site safe during construction. Due to the size and complexity of the construction site, the team required an adaptable temporary alarm system that could be used across different zones, with each zone controlled separately from a single control panel, whether the site workers were on or off site. The system was to include fire and first aid call points, smoke and heat detectors, interface units and a number of First Responder Stations.

Once completed the £79m development of areas F1 and F2 of the estate will provide 223 new homes across five blocks, along with public realm open space and infrastructure providing green social areas for residents. A key aspect of the development will be its sustainable credentials with a targeted 40% cut in CO2 emissions from energy produced by the homes, thanks to rooftop photovoltaic cells and connection to the district heating system.

“This project comprises of multiple areas that required separate zones on the fire protection system. The site therefore required an adaptable, temporary fire protection system, capable of keeping the large site safe and secure, 24 hours a day. The SiteProtect Alarm System has ensured that site operatives can be alerted if an incident occurs across different areas of the site. We’re delighted to support the project as they transform this estate into a social housing development fit for the 21st Century.”
